Mass demonstrations against the Turkish occupation took place today in governorate of Idlib and in the northern part of Hama governorate.
The protesters gathered near Turkish checkpoints and observation posts, which outwardly looked more like fortresses. Protest actions took place in the settlements of Murek (observation post No. 9), al-Surman (observation post No. 8) and Maar-Khatatt (checkpoint No. 1 and No. 2).
A huge number of people of all ages gathered to express their civic position. The number of protesters reached tens of thousands.
The protesters chanted slogans in support of the territorial integrity of Syria and the current president, carried state flags, photos of Bashar al-Assad and banners.
Despite extreme dissatisfaction with Turkey's occupation actions, the protest was peaceful. However, Turkish military personnel actively tried to disperse peaceful protests with tear and respiratory irritant gas in al-Surman. In total, there were two attacks with a frequency of one hour. More than 20 people, including women and children, were hospitalized. At least one child was injured by a direct hit from a smoke grenade.
